What does Malik Universal Trades actually do?
Quite a lot. The core of the shop is dry cleaning, laundry, leather cleaning and clothing alterations. Alongside that we scan, copy and print, take passport photos, repair watches, phones and laptops, buy and sell gadgets, and stock perfumes and everyday bits, plus ice cream and slush over the summer. If you're not sure whether we cover it, just ask on WhatsApp.
What are your opening hours?
We're open seven days a week: Monday to Saturday from 9:00 in the morning until 22:20 at night, and Sunday from 10:00 until 21:30. The banner near the top of this page shows live whether the shop is open right now.
How much does dry cleaning or an alteration cost?
It depends on the garment and the job: a shirt press is different from relining a coat or taking in a suit. Rather than quote a blanket price, we'd rather give you an accurate one for your item: send a photo on WhatsApp or bring it in and we'll tell you there and then.
Do you really buy phones and laptops?
Yes. The awnings say "we buy, we sell, we repair" and we mean it. Bring your phone, laptop or gadget in for a price, or ask us to repair it. Message us first with the make and model and we can give you a rough idea before you travel.
Can I get passport photos and printing done?
Yes. We scan, copy and print while you wait and take passport and ID photos in store, handy if you've got a form to send off or a document to print the same day.
